Who we are

Tourist Croatia is a private travel guide from the Netherlands. The maker of the site is responsible for the data processed through this site.

What data we process

We do not ask for your name or email address. There is no account, no newsletter and no contact form. The following data is processed:

  • On every visit. Your browser sends technical data to the server, such as your IP address, browser type, the requested page and the time. This is needed to show the page. Our hosting provider may keep this in log files for a short time, for security and to fix problems. We do not use this data to track visitors.
  • In your browser. Your language, currency, trip plan and cookie choice are kept in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your own device; we cannot see it. The cookie page lists exactly what is stored.
  • Fonts. The fonts come from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google for this, and Google sees your IP address. Google may also process this data outside the EU, including in the United States.
  • Partners. If you search or click through to Booking.com, GetYourGuide or Viator, your search (such as destination and dates) and a label with the place on our site go to that party. If you book something there, we receive a commission. The partners only send us booking overviews, without your name or contact details. Their own privacy policy applies on their website.
  • If you email us. We only use your email address and message to reply to you. We keep them no longer than needed to handle your question.

Why we are allowed to do this

For the technical data, the fonts and the storage in your browser we rely on our legitimate interest: a website that works and is secure. If you email us, we process your data to answer your question. We do not currently use cookies for statistics or marketing. If we add them, it will only be with your consent.

What we do not do

We do not sell data, we do not build visitor profiles and we do not show ads based on your browsing behaviour.

Your rights

You may ask us what data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to its use, or ask us to restrict its use or transfer the data. To do so, send us an email. Not happy with how we handle your data? You can file a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (the Dutch data protection authority) or with the data protection authority in your own country.

Changes

If something on the site changes so that this statement is no longer correct, we update it. The date of the latest version is shown at the top.
